I have mixed feelings when one of my sweet baby clients turns 1! First, I am so excited to share in this milestone….they are so darn cute and I have had the distinct pleasure of watching them grow. What a privilege….and of course 1 year sessions couldn’t be more fun! What a darling age, so who wouldn’t want a one year old to come visit them?? Then part of me is sad. Crazy huh? Why be sad? It dawned on me as I was about to post these sneak peeks of little “Z” that it would likely be a little while before I saw him again. My babies generally come back every 3 months their first year…I am there for some of their biggest milestones. First smiles….sitting up…standing…laughing….crawling…and sometimes even first steps…or first taste of cake! WOW…when you really think about it WOW! Then, I sit here and realize one year has passed. They are toddlers now. Toddlers. Gosh…where has the time gone?? I feel so mixed with emotion, I come to really love these families and these little ones, and now that we have reached this milestone I know I will see them again….I a certain of that, but it may not be until near their second birthday, or in some cases at the introduction to their new sibling. I am humbled by this, and almost have a new found perspective on this session. It’s certainly a milestone, and a beginning of sorts, but for me, it marks the end. The end of my consistent involvement in their lives…the regular visits.
So with mixed emotion I reintroduce you to little “Z”. What a beautiful little boy…and so smart too! Mom “A” and I have really bonded too. I jsut adore her, and the intense love she feels for her little boy. He blessing, her gift and the greatest of surprises. A enjoys each and every moment with her boy, and has taught him so much…he knows songs, enjoys reading, knows all the parts of the body…even by technical terms…how many babies do you know that can identify the Thorasic. “Z” happy first birthday little man. It has been a delight to work with you and your mommy. Thank you for the smiles, giggles and just for being the good little boy taht you are!
